Silvia decided to change her life after years of severe depression, anxiety and eating disorder + a school education that didn’t fit her tendency to be a shapeshifter. Massimo was used to be a poet, but he needed more corporeal evidence and less solitude. Poetry didn’t fit his tendency to be a shapeshifter. Silvia & Massimo launched AnimaeNoctis in 2019.
2 multidisciplinary beings survive and escape the night of the souls. This is the very meaning of our dual name: animae noctis, souls of the night. Not what we are now, but what we used to be.
AnimaeNoctis is a duo, a polymorphous factory, a multimedia agency: Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (November 26, 1994) & Massimo Sannelli (November 27, 1973).
We are musicians, filmmakers, photographers, models, performers, 3D items makers, publishers, post-porn artists, dancers, activists via art.
We use garbage, free softwares, common items, toys, a lot of improvisation and our own bodies. Our filming tools are often starring in the films themselves. They are not mere instruments for documentation: they always belong in the show.
Our bodily art has 2 styles: the HARD one and the HARDER-THAN-IT-SEEMS one. All of our artworks are documentaries: so they can't help being explicit.
The puns we deal with are not simple games. Our language does not have a single direction and a severe law.
A duo is the perfect synthesis of the single hero and the piebald collectivity.
That's how we live right now, while we boost our keywords: worldwide working/living, antispecism, antifascism, nonbinary/dappled identity + behaviour, amusable avantgarde, pleasure.
We have a 12-sided ruse to display: inventing styles; overcoming depression; boosting sex; deconstructing apathy; training the voice; celebrating bodies; rejecting self-blame; being multimedia; showing kindness; documenting life; taking care; disconnecting toxicity.
