King/Queen Of The Square Meter is AnimaeNoctis project for AiOP 2023: DRESS, curated by Gretchen Vitamvas.

There are 2 performers, Silvia & Massimo, and 2 possibilities of show.

# 1: Silvia is dressed as a Princess and Massimo as a Jester. They are close to a chair located in a square meter on the street. Jester Massimo invites people to sit down; each sitting person is invited to wear the crown offered by the Princess and to take a selfie with the 2 performers. The Jester asks: King or Queen? Then he writes the right title on a paper certificate given to each person: King or Queen of the Square Meter. All of this looks like an entertaining joke but the certificate explains the ultimate sense of the show: «Remember: not all the humans have a safe Square Meter to stay. Other humans die to conquer or to defend a Square Meter of land. Other humans are imprisoned in a Square Meter. AnimaeNoctis declares that this Square Meter you belong in is safe and cruelty free».

# 2: Massimo is dressed as a Princess and Silvia as a Jester. The actions are the same as # 1.

The Circle Of Dirtiness And Cleanliness is AnimaeNoctis project for AiOP 2024: CARE, curated by Patricia Miranda and Christopher Kaczmarek.

There are 2 performers, Silvia & Massimo.

Massimo is sitting with a bucket in front of him. It contains a dirty semi-liquid mixture he uses to cover up his hands, arms, face, chest and shoulders. Silvia is standing right beside him. She also has a bucket with pure water and some rags. A box with the writing "TAKE ONE" is in front of the 2 performers: it contains 200 copies of a statement. When Massimo gets dirty, Silvia starts cleaning him and invites the audience to collaborate and/or she explains what she is doing and why. When Massimo is completely clean, he starts getting dirty again and the whole process goes on. The take-away papers for the audience explain that Massimo uses his own freedom to destroy his appearance (he was used to suffer from severe depression and a dramatic lack of self-care, while he was used to a runaway life) and Silvia - that now is his wife - performs her gentle attack to Massimo's humiliating practice. It's also impossibile to clean the dirtiness without getting dirty: we all exchange something in physical/mental contact. Because humans are not absolutes. As a real part of this performance and not as a pure documentation, Silvia will launch several Facebook directs as AnimaeNoctis duo is used to do.

What is scarier than fascism? October 26 across 14th Street, October 27 at Astor Place, October 28 in Times Square. As a Halloween offering, Art in Odd Places presents AnimaeNoctis in HORRIFASCISM at three different Manhattan locations as a response to the 100th anniversary of Fascism.
